Week 10 Assignment #2
Michelle
Rosenfeld
Teaching Philosophy
As a teacher in todays society, I believe I carry a strong
responsibility to properly prepare my students for the technological opportunities
and challenges they will face in the future. Unlike the relatively stable
educational system of my parents and grandparents, todays students must be well
prepared to succeed in the rapid changing technology of modern times.
To this end, I will do my utmost to develop and deliver
lessons that are based on the ISTE Technology Integration Standards for
teachers and students. While some subjects lend themselves better to technology,
almost any area of the curriculum can be enhanced with the utilization of
various forms of technology.
The ISTE Standards include
fundamentals for teachers such as designing and developing digital age learning
experiences and assessments and promoting and modeling digital citizenship and
responsibility.
As a classroom teacher I will
enhance my lessons by using Power Point presentations, smart boards and other
technological resources available. At the same time, I will give my students
many opportunities to reinforce and build their knowledge through the use of
search engines and educational software programs. By modeling responsible use
of the internet and educating my students on the risks ad perils inherent on
the web, I will prepare my students to become outstanding and responsible
digital citizens, as well as role models for the peers.

Week 4 Assignment 1
The objective of these lesson plans was to develop the students English language and writing skills. In order to do so the teacher must ensure that her lessons are prepared with clear goals and objectives and include the content and resources necessary for students to master their skills.
As the lessons were based on common core standards the results were evaluated and compared to meeting of those standards. The lessons also included specific goals that students could attain and be evaluated on. The essential questions were formulated to ensure that students fully comprehended the material being presented and where appropriate express their thoughts clearly in writing.
Lessons were developed based on age appropriate levels using school curriculum standards. By creating the lessons using practical hands on applications, students will have the opportunity to share ideas and increase their knowledge of the subjects learned. These techniques are skills required for success in both college as well as in real life work situations.
